Jameson Distillery Bow Street offers a unique opportunity to experience and learn about the creative processes behind silky smooth and triple distilled Jameson Irish Whiskey that is a staple of Irish history and culture. Formally established in 1810, John Jameson and his son took over the former Bow Street Distillery and made it their own. While the whiskey is currently brewed in Cork, you can explore the original intact site where the Whiskey was distilled all the way up until 1971. 

Visitors have three tour options – a 40-minute ‘Bow St. Experience’ €18, a 90-minute ‘Whiskey Makers’ masterclass €55 including the chance to sample whiskey straight from the cask in the maturation warehouse, and a 90-minute ‘Whiskey Shakers’ cocktail masterclass designed to “unleash your inner mixologist”.

Upon taking the tour, you will find that the distillery also houses a smithy, cooperage, sawmills, engineers, carpenters, painters and coppersmiths’ shops. You will be able to see cellars that were dug to store maturing whiskey. Each area is capable of holding 24,000 gallons of whiskey. Afterwards, head on over to the Church Restaurant and Bar (only a 5 min walk away!)

Here you are dropped you into the world of Jameson whiskeys and the cocktails based on them.  Your skilled Jameson bartender will guide you through the history, ingredients and recipes of both world famous and newly devised Jameson cocktails.
